Does APAS support cargo operations? Charter operations?
Yes. Cargo and charter operations are modeled with and in parallel to the passenger scheduled service operation. Costs that are shared across operations can be allocated accordingly, while specific costs and revenues are differentiated.
How many resources will be required from us to implement APAS?
During implementation, Seabury will provide subject matter and product expertise as well as developers to build the necessary interfaces from source systems. The client commitment will require a lead project manager to make day-to-day decisions as well as 1 or 2 analysts that will become the eventual administrators of the methodology. Furthermore, we will require some limited IT support for hardware acquisition, installation and interface data acquisition.
Is there a “pre-packaged” methodology that my airline will have to work within?
No! There is no one-size-fits-all airline cost allocation methodology in a box. Every airline has different issues, different costs, different factors that drive different methodologies. That is why APAS is built to be fully custom configurable to any requirement. Better than a pre-packaged solution, Seabury provides the industry expertise as part of implementation to assist its clients in making methodology decisions that are most appropriate given the specific requirements.
What general ledgers does APAS work with?
APAS can support any general ledger structure and thus work with any product in the market. In fact, our previous client implementations have all required multiple general ledgers that APAS was able to integrate.
Is APAS scalable?
We have implemented APAS at one of the largest airlines in the world flying 5000 daily departures as well as used the product to perform some schedule modeling for some start-up carriers with less than 200 daily departures.
How is the product licensing structured?
Seabury licenses the product as an enterprise-wide license. This includes an unlimited number of users within your organization. It would not allow you to provide route profitability services to third parties.
What technology platform is APAS built on?
APAS is built based on Oracle database 10g/11g and a Microsoft .NET framework for the windows based user interface. APAS can run on UNIX, LINUX or Windows.
Is there an ASP solution model for APAS?
We currently do not have an ASP client, but we would be interested in discussing this solution with interested parties as a launch offering.
